Career
Ruben is a partner and attorney-at-law at AKD and brings significant deal experience to the firm, essentially in the area of real estate and infrastructure. His practice covers the entire spectrum of the lifecycle of real estate, with a particular focus on corporate real estate transactions, construction and real estate litigation, real estate development projects, property and asset management, and PPP infrastructure projects. He acts for investors, sponsors, lenders and contractors, in each case both on domestic and cross-border real estate or infra transactions.
Ruben is a member of the Dutch-speaking Brussels Bar and joined AKD in 2024 from a magic circle firm where he practised for many years. He has been ranked a rising star by The Legal 500 in his fields of expertise. One client was cited as saying “Ruben Vermang stands out for his unwavering commitment for his clients – in addition to being extremely reactive and providing extremely swift and clear feedback to any ad hoc request, he also tries to think along with his clients and anticipate any upcoming issues/questions.”
Ruben is fluent in Dutch, French and English. He holds a law degree from the University of Ghent (Belgium), as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Vanderbilt University in the United States.
