Position

Marc King is a Senior Associate specialising in estate planning, trusts, and estate administration, with a particular focus on inheritance tax, business succession planning, and cross-border taxation matters.

He advises clients on complex estates, including business owners and those with overseas assets, ensuring practical, cost-effective solutions tailored to their individual circumstances. Marc works closely with clients’ existing advisers to provide coherent, strategic guidance across tax, business, and family considerations.

Career

For almost 20 years, Marc has worked exclusively in probate, wills, and trusts, handling matters such as:

  • Succession planning for businesses using option agreements backed by life cover

  • Structuring equity and debt arrangements to maximise Business Property Relief

  • Advising on discretionary trusts to mitigate Capital Gains Tax and optimise Agricultural and Business Property Relief

  • Restructuring family trusts for greater tax efficiency and reduced administration costs

Marc also provides training for junior lawyers, consultancy to smaller firms, and has been a guest speaker for organisations and charities on private client matters.
